I have a dilemma...private BC to private ontario transfer originated with seller Aug 22, transfer completed Jan 31.
Purchase price Was paid at time of sale and before transfer was started.
As of Feb 6, which was the last day of contact from the seller this week, it hadn't been shipped out yet.
No reasons for not doing so, just haven't got to it yet.
Is there a time line or a period that someone can legally be in possession of a restricted firearm that they no longer own?
I dont want to be a dick and have this take longer than it should.
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this post but since we have all been waiting months for our transfers...this is ridiculous.
TIA

YES!!! My final notice arrived via email - what a brutal process.
NS store to Ontario private - August 27 approved today February 10 #60153xx
Best of luck to the rest of you, and a HUGE THANK YOU!! to all who helped create and maintain the transfer chart.
See you at the range.
I think the only option you have here is to call the RCMP firearm program to inquire about what the law says. I did look up the RCMP website don't have much on that. You can ask him to provide a date as to when he will ship it and if he don't respond you will have to go with the RCMP. That's why I don't like private to private. But yeah he is a dick for not sending it.
