Honestly I think its different enough from everything I've tried to say it's really based on anything in particular.
The bolt/locking lug design is similar to the 54 looks-wise (but not function), the firing pin cocking mechanism is closer to the vintage Walther KK series, the receiver is nice and thick for a .22, and the trigger is quite light but creepy.

It can be based on anything, so long as extra mags are available

It looks like an improved version of the original Scorpio EM.
The oversized bolt is a nice touch and so is the pic rail...both of those were absent on the original version.

Not so sure about the 13in barrel though.
The 22lr is already somewhat anemic out of a regular sized barrel as it is.

I'm kind of assuming, that there will be some further loss of velocity and possibly accuracy out of the 13 in.
I could be wrong of course, as I'm not too familiar with the ballistic intricacies of a 22lr.

Takes about 16 inches for a full powder burn

The original post did not list any dealers. Now there's two.

22lr velocity doesn't change much between like 12 and 18" barrels. Also barrel length isn't particularly relevant to accuracy - it helps if you've got iron sights due to the increased sight radius, but if you're using an optic it's not a big factor.

NS why don't you post MSRP anymore? It's really frustrating...

Does anyone know what the LOP is like on the earlier Scorpios with the longer barrel? Is it full size, or a bit smaller like the Savage mk2?

Very nice. But the short barrel is a no for me. To at least 18", maybe.
To NORTH SYLVA, any chance of finding a JW-20 or NS 522? Fingers crossed....
