Other options are to have your firearm deactivated by an approved business or to legally export the firearm. You can also wait for further instructions to participate in the buyback program.

IrunGuns has previously said that the CZ 858 rifles are non-exportable to the US. (Yours is a CSA, and that's obviously different)

If the government decides it has the authority to regulate what you do outside the country, then it has that authority. It can easily prohibit you from owning, touching, looking at, thinking about a firearm outside Canada. Similar laws already exist with regard to sex tourism and offshore bank accounts. Applying them to firearms only requires another oic. Enforcement outside Canada may be slightly more difficult, but "Ve haff vays".

FYI, 2 weeks ago, I was granted a permit to export one of my AR 15 to France.

Yeah I have 2 young kids, that is not an option. The last thing my family needs is the RCMP swarming our home or to be heavily fined (which we already are thanks to Covflation).

While it would be nice unfortunately not everybody has the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars needed for a legal defense fund. However, if one of us here kindly volunteers to do so in order to challenge the act, I would be all for it!
