Kicking it up a notch - nice work. This one required an extra coffee to hone the senses...
We have a rough product release listing from Leupold. While incomplete, there are a few dates that are listed:
- First introduced a 3-9 in 1963. Leupold added 2-7 to their offering in 1964
- The first 1-4 on our list was released in 1973, although there may have been models prior to this
- Matte finish first offered on VARI-X II optics in 1983
- VARI-X II 1-4 was discontinued in 1985, released as a one year limited edition scope in 1988. Then added back to the full lineup in 1990
- VARI-X became VX-II around 2001/2002
Photos of your rifle/scope are needed - we all love the Ruger 44 mag!
