So, will that mean that Ottawa will set up its own enforcement bureau in Alberta?
The federal government has no jurisdiction with respect to policing criminal law. That is the sole jurisdiction of the provinces per Section 92(14) of the Constitution.

Federal firearms law is criminal law per Supreme Court of Canada in the Firearms Act reference case.

The federal government already has federal police (RCMP), federal prosecutors and federal courts in Alberta for enforcing federal laws that are not criminal laws.

If you are charged under the firearms act in Alberta, you are charged by provincially mandated police and go to provincial court with provincial prosecutors.

All the federal government can do in Alberta WRT the firearms confiscation is set up collection centers on their own dime and allow people to voluntarily turn in their firearms if they chose.

So long as the UCP is in power in Alberta, no Albertan is going to get a letter from the CFO demanding they bring in their AR-15 for destruction.

Maybe this is why Trudeau is allowing the Chinese Government to set up “service Center’s” in Ontario. These are basically Chinese CPC police stations used to exert pressure on Chinese expats at this time.....maybe they would be willing to assist in the disarming of Canadian citizens?

Nobody should invoke the notwithstanding clause, ever, anywhere, for any reason.

Its very existence in a constitutional democracy is abhorrent.

Virtue signalling that means absolutely nothing. Even if it happens, it wont take long before Ottawa pulls funding in different sectors to make sure they fall in line.
Quebec's current long gun registry proves provinces can overrule federal firearms law.

I hope Alberta tells Trudy to suck it!

The RCMP in Alberta are EMPLOYEES of Alberta. If an employee doesn't want to do what the boss is telling them to do, that boss can find a new employee.

If the Criminal Code of Canada gets amended making these firearms illegal to possess, it will make no difference what police force is in power. Let's hope it never happens.
Canada Post will only insure firearms that are shipped in a hard plastic case with a lock on it. Cost is $2.75 for every $100 of insurance. I will not assume any responsibility for loss or damages by Canada Post. All items are sold AS IS and do not come with any warranty. Payment required within 24 hrs of your commitment to purchase or item will be sold to another member.

They do not answer to Ottawa when they have a provincial policing contract. If they follow Ottawa in this regard they can consider their provincial role will be cancelled shortly. I guess that would take care of their manpower shortage? Or would it make it worse as most become APP's?
