Ottawa withdraws controversial amendments to firearms law

The Liberal government has withdrawn a series of controversial amendments to pending firearms legislation, C-21 — changes that some firearms owners say would have unfairly targeted hunters and farmers.

    Good.

Now let’s keep pushing to scrap C-21 in its entirety

You might reconsider the celebration my read on the tea leaves is the Liberals had the votes to ratify C-21 then they put in that amendment which would have criminalize the possession of millions of hunting firearms. This unified the entire gun community, almost all the political parties, the first nations and pretty much everyone else with a functioning brain against C-21.
So they withdraw the amendment clearing the way for c21 to pass ratifying the orders in council of the handgun ban, and the ban of 1500 makes and models of modern sporting firearms.

My sentiments, exactly. My firearms are still going to be confiscated. What kind of victory is that.
The farmers, and hunters are now going to go back to sleep, because this fight, for all firearms, no longer involves them.
The politicians are breathing a sigh of relief now that their constituents are no longer harassing them. It's business, as usual.

That's a win in my books! Still expecting their usual tom-foolery to follow, could see a bait and switch and find something else snuck through. Or perhaps it'll just be their wedge issue for the next election.

This is great news, but we can't afford being caught up in big victory laps just yet.

Not only they are likely to try again from a different angle, the OIC and the handgun ban is still very concerning.

We need to build on this momentum and under any circumstances we should not let our guard down.

Having said that, I would live to be a fly on the wall at the Poly headquarters right now!!
"Gun control" is a feel good term, which is designed to disquise the globalist disarmament efforts under the pretense of fighting crime.
