Very interested in a 1895 nostalgic and well built rifle, would put me very close to complete my Winchester lever collection but.... not 405...."expensive"and hard to find ammo! $2500 not too appealing either but that is what it is I suppose.
Now in a 303brit, 30-40 or even 3006 or even 762x54r ...yup, you can say ammo is harder to find now sure but not these, onlt 30-40 is hit and miss, the rest are readily availble and not at $80-$100 for 20.

be cool if they could do up some replicas of the russian contract ones
You’re ready to spend $2800-$2900 depending on shipping (whole other story there, lol) and you’re concerned about hard to find and price of ammo?
Where have you been? All ammo is expensive and hard to find now. It’s even getting impossible to find plain Jane .22’s for plinking that used to be a couple bucks that now are $7-8 per 50.
A month ago people were fighting to pay that kind of money for an $800 Glock. Man, the gun industry has taken a huge dump!
