I'd need to see a LOT more pics before dropping 6k on it but the stock looks cleaned possibly. Buttplate could just be patina. Depending on lighting it can make them look blued.

Without confirming the rest of the rifle in detail, this is an example of K98k that was ENHANCED by a prior owner. Both stock and metal redone. Sadly the fate of far too many historical rifles back in the day…

That’s why I mentioned Mitchell’s (Mauser) before. All of their K98’s were “ sanitized”, and have that bleached look to the wood…
