Just read the Saskatchewan Government legislation tabled today that is intended to protect legal gun owners from adverse consequences of C-21. Worth a google read as it seems this government has decided to take a real stand in supports of our members against the Federal Government overreach.

Why is there Rimfire even on the list? Chances of them staying / getting removed?

irrelevant at this point. stop searching for your particular firearm being 'allowed'. This is the hill to die on. Whatever gun you think is going to escape the banhammer will be banned in future iterations. Full stop. No more 'well I don't use such and such a gun so I don't care'

they. are. coming. for. your. guns.

    No compromise!!

    This is the hill.
I stand for freedom, law and order, justice, low taxes, prosperity, healthy lifestyle and property rights.

But I am "old school" and can see the "writing on the wall".

Tangential--one might say irrelevant--to the topic but nonetheless on the topic of irrelevance, as an erstwhile staunch supporter of Poilievre was chagrined to receive this survey in the (e)mail this AM from "the Conservative Team" presumably to be used as grist for the Conservative campaign mill:

Out of this list of issues affecting the country, please select three that are most impacting your life.

    - Rising cost of groceries
    - Children’s pain medication shortage
    - Unaffordable housing market
    - The lack of free speech on university campuses
    - Increasing rent prices
    - Rural crime
    - Gang violence
    - Liberal government’s fertilizer reduction plan
    - Carbon tax increase on home heating
One may note--as in "there it was, gone"-- the single issue of urgent and immediate significance to me (and the odd 1 or 2 voters like me) conspicuous by its absence; namely restoration of gun ownership rights to we citizen-livestock penned into electoral districts across the country, as meager as they were before the socialist mob seized power.

Not a policy statement and not only not top of mind for the bureaucrats running the CPC, not even among the top 9 issues they think could buy votes and secure their jobs, just another bunch of rule-by-survey wannabes asking me what they need to be heard saying.

The irony is a simple 10th question could have secured millions of votes, unless it was considered impolitic to ask (in which case they could have added " - None of the above"). Better to be ambiguous and damned for offering faint hope than unreservedly damned as I now consider them to be.

All of that ranted, in fairness to Poilievre the survey doesn't bear his stamp of approval.
Wad now going to the CPC rather than gun lobby groups. You can't fix stupid.
