This is the thing that turns a 1100$ rifle into a 2000$ one? Sweet!

Sure, if your rifle has the little notch in the receiver to lock the sight. If you decide to retro-fab and fake a sniper model by taking the ol' Dremel out to cut the notch then you just turned your $1100 rifle into a $500 blasphemy.

There are repro snipers floating around. Notches are professionally made, have a stamp on it. I picked up one with Russian made scope/mount for $700 back in the day when regular SVT was going for $300. Should've grabbed bunch of SVT's but who knew... Im remembering it now. Walked into a store and they had 6-7 sitting there for $299 each. Wasnt even that long ago. Couple of years. I checked serial number on mine on Ratnik database, it's a repro but notch looks identical to one on confirmed OG sniper.

Why worry 'bout it's value if it's banned?

Like they say back in the old country, hope dies last. Vz58 was also banned before OIC and than brought back to NR classification before being made a prohib again.
