I used to have one (stainless without the FH). Was a sweet gun.

I just fail to understand what made these rifles double in cost over 6 years.....
The first one I bought was a .308 and it retailed for just under 1000...... 950 iirc. for the stainless pepper laminate. Might even still have the bill somewhere.
not knocking the retailers , just curious what made them steadily go up in price , the latest jump being nearly 500 dollars more than just a couple years ago when I looked at a pepper laminate in .308 for 1299.00
The scout is nice but it's heavy for what it is.
I'm thinking at this price point.... and again, not slagging the retailers...... this rifle is pricing itself well above it's market and is a hard pass for me.

    Those were $1,350 last year.

Not much difference to the Mossberg MVP in 308 but those prices will probably go up soon as well.

    Hard pass.

The 16.1 synthetic is the way to go anyways… it’s 1lb lighter with better balance. The laminate shorties are rear heavy

They want $2700 for a Savage Scout at my LGS, so this is a good buy for a winter gun with irons. CZ no longer makes the Ranger rifle with irons IIRC.

A Mauser with a rear aperture is way cool. But dang, count me among the guys who wish they bought one sooner.

Would probs be just as happy putting an aperture sight on a Zastava and dealing with the quirks but it wouldn't be so handy or use detachable mags.

Course theres one on Gunpost for only $3200 lol
