    I'm surprised it's not offered in a 6.5 of some variation. Even a 6mm, 243 would make a handy rifle as well. Not that there isn't any a .308 can't do for the most part.

    I'm surprised there hasn't been a 2nd generation of this gun yet. How long has it been available in this exact configuration? 10 years?
    .338 is where the fun starts.

    For the few posters commenting on weight the top rifle goes 6lbs. Can't think of another all stainless, Claw extractor, non "fat-bolt" factory offering with a great set of irons. Those aluminum williams peeps they put on the Savage don't compare to the GSR sights for durability.
    Not that there's anything wrong with the fat bolts, I enjoy my Ruger Americans as well especially since I recently scored a Nodak sight set off the EE.
