We have been a fan of Barnard actions for years, but unfortunately have been unable to obtain them. There are many fine actions available, but have chosen to stock the Canadian KS Arms actions. We have customers who have used them for 2+ seasons in FTR and feedback is 100% with no failures.
From their site: Hard & Corrosion Resistant Liquid Nitride Black Finish on 4340HTSR Steel. Machining is first rate, as would be expected from a Swiss tool and die maker!
Customers are impressed with this finish and this is the best steel choice and preferable to stainless as it is " Characterised by high strength and toughness in relatively large sections." Importantly, they are reliable - great customer service!
We have actions in stock and know that they will be fine for PRS, hunting and FTR.
