IF you live in fear of what your government may do in the future, you are the perfect citizen in their minds.
My advice, you only live once, there are NO guarantees but the are regrets. We are currently under the dictatorship of a truly evil regime but they do fall eventually.

If you are buying it in the hopes that it won't get banned and if it does that the government will buy it back, you may as well refrain from buying it in the first place if that much fear and anxiety grips your heart.

Don't let the government dictate how you make your decisions. That's exactly how a socialist government hopes to cull the herd.

That last G46 amendment served as a "hockey card checklist" of sorts for me to check off what I have already and what I still need to get. I couldn't care less if the government bans them. I am not their subject.

As I read through the list I actually said out loud: Got it, Got it, Need it, Got it, Need it.....
The best time to buy a gun was 40 years ago, the second best time is today.

There is something inherently and deeply fulfilling in having something that that the government has indicated that they don't want you to have. That is, in my mind, enough incentive to go ahead and buy it.

No one can know what they want to ban next. While semi autos' like the Ruger Pc carbine made the amendments of C-21. So did many bolt actions and single shot rifles. So even if you go out of your way to buy something you don't think will get banned there is all ways a chance they ban it, as many on here can attest. It also depends on your financial situation. Can you afford to buy a firearm that could be turned into a safe queen? One you can't sell, or trade or use? That is the possibility right now when buying semi-auto's but not a guarantee it will happen. If you can afford it I say buy what you like and don't sweat over it. If you can't afford a safe queen that can't be used buy something else you like that doesn't have that possibility. Though as I stated that really doesn't work out all the time so I'll lean to buy what ever is legal and you want.

Personally I find it amusing that people are trying to sell Mini 14 part kits for over 1K. What's up with that?

since its prohibited now, are they still allowed at the range? Do existing owners get it grandfathered in their licence?

Not allowed at the range and there is no grandfathering. Everyone in possession of one was made a criminal in 2020, and given an amnesty until the buyback. That they then had a judge extend because they never did a buy back and don't seem to ever want to get around to it.
