    Holy S--t! I have a Marlin carbine in 45-70 and that is a mule, cannot imagine what a 12" is going to be like. Be a really good Tracker back up or home defense gun. Too short to get much use out of the slow 45-70

    ballistically most 45-70 perform very similar to a 1oz slug from as 12g, having built a 12" 870 for wildlife defense, I have always seen getting a 45-70 for similar purposes
    I understand a lot of others feel the same way about it
