NOVUS PDS-1: an improved Chinese clone of the Russian 1P87 combat optic

NOVUS PDS-1; an improved and affordable Chinese clone of the Russian 1P87 enclosed combat optic:

These optics supposedly have a release date in Q3 2023.

Would TACTICAL IMPORTS consider bringing these into Canada?

I bet $5the Russians can't domestically manufacture these optics, and are having the Chinese do it as a way to get around the sanctions due to the war.

    But I digress...

Probably not, they may source Chinese parts, but doubt they build it in china. Since the start of the war they have been domesticating much of their production. Their soldiers seem to have an affinity for holosun gear.

After having a few russian optics over the years I don't blame them. russia has been a few decades behind when it comes to optics post ww2.

In fact prior to the conflict/war in Ukraine. russian specialist troops were often seen with eotechs.

I'm intrigued to see how this clone will hold up compared to the original 1P87. I had an original Russian 1P87 last year and I ended up selling it because I found that the highest reticle brightness setting was not bright enough for me and it didn't matter what type of AA battery I used. I tried sighting it in during the winter and the circle-dot reticle would completely disappear when aimed at a snowy background. The improved battery life, the extra features offered like Shake Awake technology and the lower price make the Chinese clone attractive to me.

Most Russian optics are awful and having one on your gun is like owning a cringe weeb katana. Just get a holosun if you want to do the Russian operator cosplay.
