    What's the button that looks like a bolt release on a lever gun for?

    that button is to release unused shells. You have to push down the lever and push the button

    The buttons have all been installed backwards, kind of funny really.Mine came backwards so i reversed it and now it actually works better

    Very interesting. The only other lever action 12 gauge design I know of is the Winchester 1887. I am interested to see how well these LV-12s will hold up over time and how reliable they are.
