Yes 8.9lb with a steel magazine is lightweight for a Chassis type rifle in a magnum caliber with a 24in barrel and the rest of the awesome features the sig cross has. Is there another comparable rifle on the market that is lighter?

The 6.5 Creedmore with a 22 inch barrel is reportedly 8 pounds 2 ounces with the carbon fibre wrapped barrel and carbon fiber handguard etc.... so a bit lighter for sure but a slightly shorter barrel.

The 300 WM MPR is 8.4 pounds [https://www.americanrifleman.org/con...-300-win-mag/] I think the 6.9 is for the SA calibers

the christensen MPR is 6.9 in a short action carbon barrel like the .308. the sig cross in .308 is only 6.5lbs. you gotta compare apples to apples this is long action long barrel.

    Excuse the pun,
from the photos it looks like it, both hinges mount to the stock and chassis with a single recessed tapered screw

A 4 thousand dollar factory produced rifle. How do I justify a price tag like that.

Better off buying a Tikka and making it look like anything you want and it’ll be more accurate…
