In the market for my first firearm and lusting after a lever-action .22LR
I've been fixated on a Henry Frontier octagon barrel, but this is seriously tempting for the price, mag feed and look.
Anyone have some insight? Should I wait or go for the Derya?

IMO I would hold off for the Henry. The problem with all of this Turkish crap is that in a few years there will potentially be little to no support from the company. In say 10-15 years, you can pretty much guarantee there will be no support. Henry is 10/10 with their warranty, no questions asked, no bs.

That would be great, only thing holding me off is the barrel length. Really wish they make it in 16"

Anyone asking why hasn’t loaded 22 in a tube before.. that said, missed opportunity for tube to feed action and mag feed tube. I feel like it’s worth the complexity because right now it looks like a 5.7 AR.
Besides that yea, barrel doesn’t need to be quite so long and like Tactical model could have an integrated flashlight or something in bottom tube just to give it form factor.
If they really want to make money in Canada scale it up to 223 while they’re at it 🫢
Imagine a short little 12.5 version in .300 blk 🫠 would be cool to see an emergence in some use case like that so it would catch on and be more available in Canada

Youre saying this as if the cooey 600 with a 18" barrel and an ol el paso tehas 4x thin duplex reticle scope on a side mount wasn't the funnest gun I've ever had.

If you are looking at the Frontier. I would suggest the small game carbine. Better sights and no 22 needs a 24 inch barrel IMHO.

Why not buy both? Get the Derya now because its awesome, super fun, affordable, and available. Then get the Henry when they become available the one or two times Canada gets then each year.

    PS. We carry Henry too!

Had my hands on one of these today in Tillsonburg. Solid little rifle. Very smooth short-stroke action. Fairly crisp trigger break. Nice overall weight. Picatinny rail with adjustable rear sight. The post says that the 10 round mag is aluminum...this one was plastic.

    Decent rifle.
