If you want to show you're an active user you will likely need to post in threads outside the Intro forum. Lots of people joining, posting only in the intro forum, then getting upset they're not getting EE access lately... If you want to appear like you're actually an active member find a thread that interests you and join the discussion.

Agreed, doesn't have to be new threads started, your post count's from making comments on other threads as well. Of course being on topic is encouraged. And welcome.
