They are very high quality, and are a great base to build a Galil off of. 4k is quite high (I got mine for 2 or 3 years ago) but everything now is up there

You must've never handled one. These are some of the nicest rifles I've ever seen, nicer than any ak out of the ussr.

I don't know exactly what "superior" means when comparing these guns, but I assume you have had the opportunity to a legitimate comparison of each of them. I have owned both, and also a Valmet M78, and can confirm that the Valmets are extremely high quality. They are also a rare brand and somewhat of a collectors piece. Beyond both being semi-autos, its really a comparison of apples to oranges. The T7 is by most accounts a fine rifle, but so is the Valmet. Whether either is worth what they go for is entirely up to the purshaser's value scale.

A big positive for the Valmet - it has the existing "exemption" written into Law (or is it regulations)..

    Prohibited Weapons:

    • 64 The firearm of the design commonly known as the AK-47 rifle, and any variant or modified version of it except for the Valmet Hunter, the Valmet Hunter Auto and the Valmet M78 rifles.
