I miss Barnaul. I have some guns that I shot barny out of then put away a year ago that are mint still...
When that stuff was 10 bucks a box…miss those days. I don’t suppose we gonna get any more until the war is over…

There hasn't been reasonably priced nc 7.62x39 ever since the start of 2018 when a ban was put in place on Russian ammo imports, no more cheap tula, MFS, or barnaul for 40 cents a round. You can reload brass cases but it would still be around 60 cents each plus labour and all the reloading equipment. Just shoot corrosive. Also looking for reasonably priced NC.
@NSS - $1 per round is still expensive for FMJ 7.62x39 in bulk. I realize yours is “worth that” based on MSRP but that stuff sells for more than brass cased 5.56.

I hear you, I bought and sold a type 81 as it was not my thing, so got stuck with a bunch of ammo I don’t need. And I am willing to eat the shipping as well if nowone local bites soon.
Wish I bought more Barnaul a few years back aha 40 cents for nice .223 SP sounds pretty good right about now
If I buy ammo from a private source and ask to ship to BC, what are the chances that Canada Post will open and seize the package?
It’s illegal and the sender can get in big trouble. Take your chances if you want, even if you insure it you won’t get your money back if it’s seized. If you asked the sender to do this, you’ll probably be talking to the RCMP too, not just them…
Does it still seem worth it to save a few bucks?
Got it, but how come gun shops can ship ammo?

They use the carriers that offer the service knowingly what they have in their trucks. UPS is one of them, CAN PAR was also in the game, but I think they stopped.
Other than the risk of stuff being seized and you getting in trouble, what about if they handle it wrong as they don't know they are handling ammunition and someone gets hurt or worst.
Definitely not worth trying.
Most of them use UPS who allows ammo shipping. You can look up on Google “can I ship ammo in Canada using *fill in the blank*?” And it will be in the search results whether you can or not.
Can post ships firearms but never ammo. Couriers often refuse to ship firearms but might be willing to ship ammo. Search it up or phone the courier first.
