Hehe, when I first got my licence the price of the actual firearm was the deciding factor for alot of guns, now it's the price of the ammo!no limit to these belt feds i believe. just to find the ammo may be trouble
No limit to belts that the design predates 1945.
anyone have a couple thousand rounds for a guy to get started with?
No limit to belts that the design predates 1945. Meaning 250 round belts in the M1919A4 are just fine. If you were to run metal link sthrough the M1919A4 though, that would be a 5 round limit.
There were pre-'45 disintegrating metal links for Browning guns. The uncertainty is when the current production links for 7.62x51 ammunition are used. Because the 7.62x51 is obviously post-'45, the links are also. AFAIK, there is no hard and fast ruling on the issue, though.
And of course fabric belts are not limited
Not trying to be pedantic, but for future error prevention, there is technically a limit to the cloth belts. The longest belt for the .30 cal Brownings, by original design, was the 250 round belt. If you sewed two 250's together, you'd be modifying the magazine, which as we all know will cause eleven orphanages to spontaneously burst into flames.
As an aside; Nice guns! Gotta love the non-stop stares when you bring out the .30 calibre family to the range.
Also OT question, do you fellows at the TSE have spare parts and accessories for the M1919's? I wouldn't mind getting a tripod for my A4 (even without T&E!)
