    It is true guys, this is a precident setting ruling just like the henderson appeal. We need a gov't that rules on fact and not fictina dn scare tactics.

    I know that the election does not directly assist this case, however it must put some pressure on the "other side". It is clear that the new political masters, are actually THE political masters.

    It may be looking at this situation through rose coloured glasses, but I am on the list for TWO rifles... I guess I'm biased! lol...

    Oh, and re the T-Shirts: I'm slowly becoming involved with the Carleton University Firearms Club; I wonder if this wouldn't be a perfect "award" for the top three shots our next time out at the range?!
    First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
    Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist;
    Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
    Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
    Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me."

    Well hopefully those internal changes are now being brought to the light of the Government that we pay for. I really don't care if the election was just won on Monday, we need to hammer them every single day until we get everything we need so that when the next government gets is they can't do anything to us, and they should be afraid to try because of what we accomplished here.

    Maybe it's something can be done, but knowing them they just want to drive up costs and then will say 'nope.'
    Listen, and understand. That Liberal is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse- only fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until your guns are gone.

    I will say that one good precedent was set for firearms owners - that being the refusal of the Tribunal to go "in camera" (ie - no one other than the expert witness, the CBSA, and the Tribunal in the room) when Mr Smith demonstrated that the T97A could be easily converted to FA. At least Mr Youngson could actually see how it was done, thus protecting his right to question evidence brought in by CBSA. That would have been pretty damned hard to do had the demonstration been "in camera".

    I hope CanadaAmmo is allowed to return these products to China and get a refund from Norinco. Hopefully, Norinco will redesign and manufacture T97A-type rifles so they can't be easily converted to FA.

    Call them Type 87B maybe???:D

    Prohibited firearms cannot be exported to China.

    We were never shown how the conversion was done, only the theory behind it, and an explanation of the internal parts, which of course were obvious.

    As I said in the other thread, take that document with a grain of salt.

    For those who are really interested, I can send the transcript. One thing that was humourous is that crown expert asserted the SKS was supposed to be a full-auto design, which is why is had a similar safety sear to the T97. This after he stated the safety sear on the T97 was indicative of a full-auto. I just about pissed myself.

    Yes, this is simply an appeal of the CBSA tariff classification.

    The RCMP would likely have blocked our registering the guns even if we had won here, since the ruling would not change the FRT labs opinion (they are the ones who made the decision for CBSA).

    We are no further ahead, but also no further behind in our case.

    I was hoping the minister might step in to compensate the dealers, as was done with the owners, but he seems to be ignoring the issue, so we fight on.
