Permethrin isn't approved? I bought a bottle containing some to spray around my basement windows last spring.
This 2006 Gov't Issued Water Advisory from the CCME says Permethrin is approved for use in Canada in many products (almost 300 at the time).

Still sounds like nasty stuff, but I grew up in Northern Ontario where the Mosquitos will carry away your kids. I still hate camping back there in the spring and early summer.
If I have to go back, or to any other nasty Mosquito ridden swamp/forest/jungle I'll try my luck with Cancer Tent please... :D
