i can see that. i've had some steel core stuff shoot fireballs. stuff looks like it has tracers in it. pretty cool acually but i can understand a ranges problem with that
I have a ton of Norc 762x39 and the box says LEAD CORE, did a magnet test and it sticks. Didn't realize the copper jacket is not all copper but thin steel with an even thinner copper jacket. Did a magnet test on Norc 308 and surplus CZ 8mm, both of them stick so again thin steel with a copper jacket over lead.

If a magnet sticks to the bullet (not the steel case), then there should be steel in the projectile. Unless you know someone making nickel or cobalt cored ammo.
