    Smith & Wesson® M&P Pistol Series: M&P22
    .22 LR M&P Polymer Pistol
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 18, 2011) – Whether used for training or simple enjoyment, the M&P22
is sure to be a popular addition to the M&P line of semi-auto pistols from Smith & Wesson®. Designed as a
dedicated .22 LR, the M&P22 combines the look, feel, and familiar operating features of the trusted M&P series
    of centerfire pistols.
Developed by the .22 experts at Walther, Germany, in collaboration
with Smith & Wesson, the M&P22 features a lightweight aluminum
slide and polymer grip. The new pistol is standard with a 4.1-inch
barrel and is available in both a standard (12+1) and low (10+1)
capacity. A mirror image of the centerfire M&P pistol, the M&P22
is built to accommodate both left and right-handed shooters with
its ambidextrous manual safety, slide stop and reversible magazine
    release.
The M&P22 pistol is standard with a black finish that helps reduce
unwanted glare and has been fitted with a Picatinny-style equipment
rail under the frame for optional accessories. Measuring 7.6 inches in overall length, the rimfire pistol has an
unloaded weight of 24 ounces. The M&P22 is also standard with a fixed polymer medium backstrap.
Accurate, reliable, and chambered in the inexpensive .22 LR cartridge, this is one pistol that won’t be left at
home on the next trip to the range.
The Smith & Wesson lifetime service policy is standard with each pistol.

If you are really fed up with the antics of the CFO then try a S.72 challenge. Delightfully refreshing I must say.

Good for S&W/Walther for choosing to forgo zinc (aka pot metal) slides. I hope they have learned their lesson. If it turns out to be a quality piece, we con only hope that they make them with a long enough barrel to sell here.

Big handguns like this have no value to hoods and gangsters. They'd need heavy duty suspenders to hold up one of these in their pants.
Good one and another quote I'll have to put in the memory bank:D. I'll wait for Uncle Mike to make a pair and when they do, I'll pick up a set to go with their shoulder rig I have for my 500 S&W.

The argument that handguns are inhumane is total BS. They have kill range equal or greater than bows. It is all about shot placement and practice, guns or bows. I am however in favour of a hunter shooting competency test. Have seen too many deer and moose with healed bullet/buckshot wounds.
PS. That .500 S&W is giving me a semi!
