I own one, first purchase ever, I liked the look but that is just me, I guess im a black gun kinda guy.

Not sure how much I will like Shotty's but I want one in my collection, if I dont like it, it was cheap enough that its not a huge loss. Will be taking it out to the range on the weekend and putting a flat of target loads through it.

im 33 now and have only fired a shotgun at a trap shoot when I was 13. So this will pretty much be all new to me.

I agree its ugly compared to older 870 looks, but its charming in that Tactical look kinda way.

Ya, those 887's are definitely ugly and cheaply built.
I'll stick with my Rem. Tactical Desert Recon, at least until
they allow us to have Saiga tactical shotguns!
*LEAD* Still the best boolit material for huntin' & plinkin' for over 600 yrs.
    Shoot well & load better.

HA! someone else on CGN uses the pachamyr fore end. Thought I was the only one!

if remmy discontiunes the 870 in favor of the 887.... their policy is seriously screwed up.

The 887, when I handled it, was a rattly plastic piece of sh*t that couldn't, no matter how much people say, brag, remington places into movies, advertises, "improves" with coating, hold a candle to the 870.

why the overlapping fore end on the 887? more material? seriously, cut the thing back like the actual tactical 870.

goozyman- elitist comments? naa, i just think people are sick of remington (and lots of other companies) trying to re-invent the wheel with one little change every year, when they have a proven, time tested design.
