SHOT SHOW 2011 - Air Rifles.

Lots of air guns at SHOT, ranging from entry level to Olympic match grade.

    From the RWS/Umarex booth.

Gamo had a new "gas piston" system called IGT, for Inert Gas Technology. Instead of using a standard metal coil spring, it uses a compressed Nitrogen system with a free floating piston. Crosman recently introduced a similar system called Nitro Piston.

    Other guns from Gamo.

From Cometa in Spain is the Lynx. It is a circular mag fed (like the cylinder in a revolver) gun in 3 calibre choices.
.177 fires a 8.5gr pellet at about 1180fps, 14 pellets in the mag.
The .22 calibre pushes a 14gr pellet at 860fps, 10 shots in the mag.
No data on the .25 cal system yet, believed to hold 8 pellets in the circular mag.
Cost is about $650 in the USA, no Canadian dealers yet, but looking!

    More guns from Cometa

Air Arms from the UK had some fine guns on display.

UK has an active airgun scene, and makes some fine stuff. This is Daystate. Notice the footpounds! For an airgun, this is major.

    US maker Airforce

The Pyramid Air booth had lots of brands of guns.
From Korea comes really big bore hunting guns from Evanix. Some of these are .45 or .50 cal airguns that can take wild hogs!

Some more big Korean guns, the Sam Yang (top), Eun Jin Sumatra (next 2 from top), and 3 from AirForce (USA)

Also at Pyramid was rifles from Benjamin and Crosman, including the Nitro Piston system.

    Also Beeman rifles.

And to feed them, a selection of pellets. Notice the huge .45 and .50 cal pellets top centre.

Olympic grade guns from Walther. Amazing stuff! At 10 Metre, the 10 ring is not a ring at all, but a dot about 1mm across!

    From top to bottom:
    KK300, a .22LR
LG 400 (LG means luftgewehr, air rifle in German) Anatomic wood laminate
LG 300 XT lefthand model, with an aluminum stock
    LG 400 aluminum
LG 30 Vision, a simpler version, but still very capable.
    LG 400 aluminum

Notice the mention of London, home of the 2012 Summer Olympics

Match grade air pistols from Benelli.

    Anschutz 8002 S2

A brand new gun from Crosman is the Benjamin (Benjamin and Sheridan merged a while back, then was purchased by Crosman later on) Rogue ePCP gun. It is a .357 calibre PreCharged Pneumatic capable of up to 300 foot pounds!
I didnt get a chance to look at it closely, but more can be read here
    http://www.crosman.com/blogs/croswords/?p=1297
    Sounds like a brute!

Of course, a fine gun needs fine ammo. The huge one in the centre is a mock-up of the Predator Polymag

Various styles of hunting and target pellets from Diana and H&N.
(I actually collect pellets tins, and was given these tins at the end of the show.)
