Who knows, maybe Rossi finally started putting 1/2" tall front sights on like they should have in the first place.....

I got mine to shoot point of aim when they first arrived in Canada but I had to remove the elevator and file the slot you are talking about down a fair bit in order to use the factory front sight Rossi was using at the time.

What I like with buckhorn sights is they offer several easy aiming points that can be used for hold over on longer shots ,without moving the sliding elevator,

Sorry if this has already been asked, but is it possible to replace the lever with a regular sized lever from a Rossi 92?

If you can get one, yes easily done. Maybe a small amount of fitting will be required.

Nice. So I take it they're fairly difficult to find?

Unobtainium unless you are very lucky. I cut and welded my large one into a medium which is what I wanted. It is quite easy to mod them if you have some basic metalworking skills.

Yeah I saw that. Looks very good.

How much heating is required to bend it into shape? Is there any special heat treating process that needs to be performed to re-harden it when you're done shaping and welding it?

Where abouts did you make the cut?

I just used a propane torch and heated a couple of inches at a time to dull red and bent it around an aluminum pattern I had cut out. I didn't do any hardening as you only heat the bottom of the loop.

I cleaned up the weld and cold blued it. It really shows up in the pics but you can hardly see it in real life.

I cut it at the back top just where the bend finishes, red line in pic
