Love my colt, every hammer biting, sharp edges and tiny sights part of it.
The S&W looks nice, but 100 year anniversary model it is not...

What is the differance between the export version and the usa version? Just the letters at the start of the s/n number or what? Are the 250 for export just going to canada or else where?

Notice: So far over half of the pistols have had had orders for them placed. Only half of those orders have provided payment or payment information.

We are aware that some people have orders at several stores to make sure they can get one, and will not provide payment details because of this. Any pistol order with no payment information provided within 5 days will not be reserved.

When we get to the last pistol for sale any 1911 order that has been sitting for longer then 5 days without payment, will be made available for order (unless previous arangements have been made).

The export version is based on S&W's enhanced 1911; the US version is not. In addition to mechanical differences, there has been a considerable reduction in engraving. Frontier's picture at the beginning of this thread is of the US model.

This is not a condemnation of the export model -- mine is already paid for. :D

I believe that the 250 exports are to cover the entire world except the US and that Canada has been awarded either 50 or 100. But I'm not certain of this.

The picture in the first post is the model. If there are any pistols left once they come we will post a photo of an actual pistol.
