Got a case of ammo and the SKS for my brother-in-law. I got a CZ so we are gonna split the ammo. Don't tell him though as it's his Christmas present Won't be here for Christmas but hopefully next week.

Got mine a couple days ago. First time doing the whole cosmoline removal thing. Here's the pics of my new SKS journey.

Starting right from the full strip, covered in cosmoline..

Stock and gas tube in the oven

Rest of the parts soaking in varsol

    Everything clean

Absolutely beautiful rifle, I can't thank John enough! Great deal and a great rifle! Everyone needs one of these and if you already have one, you need two! (or ten)

Home Depot. It was ten bucks. It's perfect for soaking gun parts and what not. It's only about 6 inches high, but it's 36 by 24 length and width. Even came with a lid!

Mine didn't have any factory markings, just the serial number, 0101503 (01503 on most parts). ALL matching serial numbers. Even the gas tub and other parts had the serial number etched into it (which I wasn't expecting).

    Thanks!

I'll have to go hunting for some the nest time I'm in Thunder Bay.

I have a few uses for them.

    Cheers!

    Snakes make great pets.
If you're going through hell, keep going.
