Just Listed this beauty its a french 1873 set up to shoot 45 Acp.
Theses are very strong guns and this one shoots at factory Vels with lead bullets.
Bore is Ex action tight very tight gun.
Theses ones dont use moon clips they load and unload just like a SAA colt thru the loading port the 45 acp head space on the case mouth.
One of the best made pre 1898 guns once set up in a decent caliber like 45 acp.
Price is $1650 shipped.

partsman, I truly am jealous of your collection.
Are there any antique-class revolvers which could be setup/modified to shoot 44 magnum (without changing its legal classification?)
I know next to nothing of gunsmithing. I realize the pressures will be significantly higher. Just curious if it's possible. Would make a great bear-country carry gun.
ffffff

Anyone know if .45 acp lead ammo is available in central/eastern Ontario? Shipping via UPS seems pricey. Reloading looks like the eventual solution.
Thanks!
