We got the chance to look at the CZ Bren 805. The rep at CZ USA knows not much about the rifle so it ended up we figured out most of the stuff ourselves. It appears that the rifle is made of aluminum extrusion and it has a a short stroke gas system. The bolt appears to the stoner style multi-lug arranagment. The charging handle is ambidixious.

The manual of arms is similar to SCAR witht the mag release on left side in the form of a button, other than the paddle mag release. The plastic mag is clunky so hopefully they have a version that take M16 mag. The version displayed is selective fire.

The scorpion is full polymer SMG. It is actually a bit heavier than it looks even though the entire thing is polymer. If you are into SMG in the size of MP5, this could be your cup of tea.

Dont really like the looks of that circlip holding the upper and lower together on the bren model. Its like the xcr with that cheap silver cotter pin. Dont loose it,lol. I would still buy either of them though, great looking gunz. Hopefully they come here as NR.

No chance for the skorpion to come in as NR as it is classified as a pistol...
I have been waiting for that cz bren for a year or 2 now can't wait to see what happens with it.

Its not the prettiest critter, but I like it. If it retails for less than $1000 in NR status then everyone will like it :D

I like the Bren, cool looking gun. There's no way it will be the same price as an 858. I'm thinking 2k+, in the same price range of the XCR/SwissArms. That will make it nothing but a daydream for me. Maybe I'll get to see one at the range someday.

Thanks to the outrageously valued Swiss Franc, a brand new .223 Swiss Arms Classic Green isn't $2k anymore. It's $3,500 (plus HST). Used, maybe $2k, without any kit or mags.

Personally, I was hoping to see CZ convert this model into .308 for North American use. I couldn't bear to replace my current 7.62x39 CSAs with one of these. But a .308, perhaps one that took M14 magazines - THAT would definitely peak everyone's interest.

What's the Swiss Franc got to with a Czech gun?

Bren will be easily over $2.5k out-the-door. A new, non-res black rifle, made by a large manufacturer, that ISN'T rarer than hen's teeth? Even if CZ-UB were giving them away, it would be wonderland dreaming to think the dealers would be.
