SHOT SHOW 2012: Leupold MK6 1-6x20mm and 3-18x44mm Tactical Optics

    The two newest Leupold MK6series.

The 1-6X20mm M6C1 offers true 1.0X magnifciation. It has 3 choices of recticles: TMR, CWR-W 5.56 and 7.62. The turrent is calibrated in 2 mrad per click and has a maximum of 10 mrads of adjustment. The turrent is basicly a locking turrent that works like the NF zero stop.

The CWR-W recticle is an interesting reticle that coombines close range shooting with long range capability. As it is located in the first focal plane, the horse shoe in the recticle is essentially transformed into a 7.5MOA dot at 1X and all the holdover marks disappear. At high magnification power, wind holds and range hold overs out to 1200m becomes visible. The reticle also has range estimation capability.

Word is that it is probable we will see this in half a year.

The 3-18X44mm M5B2 has 20 mrads of elevation adjustment with a pinched elevation knob. When the elevation knob is turned past the first turn, a stud on top of the turrent will stick out so that the user can know that the elevation is going into the second turn by "feel". The turrent also generates resistence everytime it is turned by half a turn. The M5B2 can come with H58 horus recticle.

I think that 1-6 is going to go on my suppressed .300 BLK AR hog hunting build. A lot of interesting optics came out of SHOT show this year.

I'm surprised CGN hasn't covered the new Hensoldt scope. That thing is worthy of a mention IMO.
