Any formal word from Ruger on what's is going on with the SR-1911?
Gun control means using BOTH hands
[QUOTE=tjhaile;6665163]I like the 5" Wiley Clapp model. It has modern ergonomic refinements like the beavertail and Novak sights, but with traditional slide serrations and rollmark. Personally, I would choose a slightly higher profile ambi safety, but that is easy to fix.
Why? Skeletonizing is unnecessary with aluminum triggers. It was originally used with heavier steel triggers to lighten them to prevent doubling.
I agree it serves no additional functional purpose but it looks better, that's why.

So nice looking though
Strange how I could own so many 1911's.

To each their own. Personally, If I have to choose between two guns of the same reliability and one looks way cooler than the other, I am going to take the cool looking one.
This is not a knock on Sig 1911s. I can appreciate that they are very innovative with their designs. In fact, I have had one for quite some time and I have nothing but good things to say about it.
