You don't need a gunsmith to take out the front sight, it unscrews once you loosen it with a square head screwdriver. However, there are no threads so you need to get a gunsmith to thread it.

    No. Sorry.

I hate the bipod and stock. Almost useless except for the folding part(and that hardly gets used).
The AR15 style stock should be a lot more ergonomic.
Lots of gimmicks on this rifle, but the core rifle seems solid. Have been getting stovepipes the odd time though, but for the most part it's a fun shooter.

I still want an XCR though. But this is a good lower cost alternative in the meantime.

Just picked up the SU-16F...haven't shot it yet, but pleasantly surprised that the front sight is a metal one with the AR style post that's adjustable for elevation. The rear sight is windage adjustable like the one on the C model. Should be much better than the crappy plastic one that is on my Sub 2000.

I haven't had the chance to shoot one yet but for sure it will be my first .223. wasn't sure about it after actually handling one, for the same reason as has been mentioned about the polymer feeling a little chintzy. so many people have reassured me when I asked about it though, I once again feel this is the perfect spot to start with .223. somebody else asked about the front sight, on the American one it's part of the gas block, so it would likely be easier to just use a railed forend and magpul backup sights or something. though personally i would also prefer the gas block

Is the SU16 still non-restricted with the charlie stock installed?
Should be fine, the SU16C is 25.5" OAL when folded with a 16" barrel.
Seeing how the Canadian version has the 18.5" barrel, the over all length when folded should be over the magically 26" number, making it non-restricted.

I never seen one in Canada yet though.

Yea, and Kel-tec doesn't ship to us.
The mark up when or if they do get here, will likely be scary.
