Transmission out of a dragster

I know it is not a firearm, but I thought you might get a kick out of it. Was a fun project.

American currency.....WTF????? WHY???

That's like having an American flag outside your house up here, it aint right.....

That looks awesome! I'd love a money covered powerglide lol. I take it the coating holds up well to the extreme heat, fluids, and such?

It stands up very well to heat, in fact we have put it on the heat shields of catalytic converters and valve covers. It is also very resistant to chemical spills such as fuel etc.

Lots of $$$ spent in transmission. Powerglide.
I blew up 4 Allison transmissons one year. 3 were rebuildable. The last one I lost the flexplate which took out the torque convertor AND the front pump, AND P2 planetary.
A 7200.00 paperweight.
On a positive note, I did get 9 miles out of it ;)

After how much it cost to get my transmission fixed on my old car I just assumed that they were made money already. Cool looking job.

Speaking of graphic.... I tried to google a picture to humoursly illustrate that point....

Apparently googling "exploding tranny" with safe search OFF = lesson learned.

I think I might need more than my usual one evening drink to get THAT out of my head and forgotten...

curiosity... must resist... damn you
