Just called this morning to the SQ ( ext 7005 ) office and a very nice lady approved my license right away.
She gave me my license number and card should be here in 2 weeks.
** it is not the best thing to rush them to approve it but being polite and patient is the best advice to get that license quicker than normal **
Pro tip : make the lady laugh on the phone.

That would vary by province as that call would have to be made to the provincial CFO office. Not sure about ON, but I'm in NS and here the provincial CFO extension just goes to an answering service, clearly indicating that they will not entertain status update requests. So I'm left with only being able to call the national CFP call centre, where they only tell you that it's with the provincial CFO office, and to hurry up and wait. - "Call again in a month, maybe it will be done by then"

Yes, I believe that's what the friendly lady at the CFP call centre implied.
I don't know why it would be less than a week for some, 45 days for some, and 45-90 days for others.
Especially if you have a clean record and no boxes ticked. I can understand it taking longer if you have some of the boxes ticked, or a less than perfect history with the law.

PAL / R/PAL applicant from B.C.
I took the course last spring got the PAL in the mail about ten days ago.
How are you guys able to see it's been received? Does that show up on the RCMP site? I sent mine off in November, but nothing has changed, as it just shows my regular pal stuff from 2019. I sent papers for restricted upgrade in November. Thanks for any input!
