only a handful of applicants in 2020 compares to the years before due to courses being closed for most of the year, they won't have jobs if they approve all fast, what was 4 months before, 12 months is the new normal

Called three times over the past 4 months. They say that it is just awaiting the CFO to sign off on. They tell me to call back in two weeks each time. I will continue waiting patiently for now.

I am wondering if the score you achieved in your PAL exam has an influence on the time of your PAL processing time.

12 months is not the norm anymore, seems to be a maximum of 5 months now as I can see from the reports here. If it takes longer than that, I think it is mostly due to administrative mistakes on your side, i.e. wrong picture format, wrong picture paper, or missing information and wrong checked boxes.

Use caution when submitting the application. Mistakes are easy to be made.

    I know it from experience,

    Quebec resident.
Miramichi received my application on August 13, 2020.
Credit card charged and application status viewable online on December 2, 2020.

    Update :

Restricted PAL received in mail on May 26, 2021.
No calls from RCMP and I never called them.
No boxes checked and I don't think that there are any mistakes on my application form.

I reviewed my form multiple times, my picture was already taken because of my PAL renewal completed a few months before, and like I said I have absolutely nothing that would be an obstacle to get one. I called after 8 months and they said everything was perfect and I only had to wait, but they interviewed me at that moment to reconfirm everything was done correctly and it was. My guess is more that whoever was in charge of new applications came back recently because I see a lot of people with different waiting times getting it in May in Quebec but they didn't have the honesty to tell people that new RPALs were not being reviewed as fast as other services in Quebec by the Sûreté.

Called back today and card was issued while on the phone, and I bumped to RPAL as well. Got the impression I would have been approved last call because I still haven't received any letter that was mentioned in that first call. Just have to wait for CP now.

FCFSC/CRFSC course completed Feb 27-28, 2021 eastern Ontario
March 19, 2021 received my Ontario CFO stamps (stamps dated March 15, 2021)
Application sent March 21, 2021 and received March 24, 2021
Credit card charged May 17, 2021
    Licence issued May 21, 2021
Card arrived in the mail June 1, 2021

Not a bad wait for the licence considering others' recent experiences. The longest wait for me (mid-November to Feb 28) was actually to get in to the courses, what with the postponements due to lock downs, class size restrictions, etc.

    Good luck everyone!

Not a bad wait? That’s UNDER two months for approval! That’s insanely fast. I’m like 4X that. But I’m sure summer will be my season.

do not think the score makes much difference just so long as you pass. On the unrestricted i got 100/100 and on restricted 100/96 and it still took over 19 months (March 21 2019 -received in Miramich to October 29 2020 - issued)
