Apparently there's some sort of trick with a highlighter that signifies "importance" so they process it ASAP, meanwhile everyone not aware gets pushed back even further :D

I'm currently coming up on the 8th month mark of my wait here in a couple days... fingers crossed I make it before turkey season(& ban)

Just FYI for everyone that's been waiting. Even though credit card was charged and status said initial review complete.....stuff didn't save correctly and was "missing". Had to call in to be informed about it and get it corrected. Definitely always good to call to make sure they have everything.

    UPDATE BC: RPAL Renewal

After many many unsuccessful attempts to get through to the BC CFO's office I was able to get through today. I took the advice of a previous post (Extreme22) and just relentlessly called today. After about 90 minutes I was able to speak to a human being. They were actually very polite and very helpful. They were able to finalize my application and my license has been issued!

    Application submitted: April 9, 2022
    Application received: April 9, 2022
    Card charged: April 9, 2022
    License Issued: Sept 23, 2022

Best of luck to you all. Based on my experience I can confirm your best course of action is to contact your CFO if your application seems to be stuck at Initial Review for months on end. After all, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Looking at the card, I think I regret the photograph I sent in.

When I did call the CFP the lady told me that my file is in the hands of the Quebec CFO, I did request if it was possible to call them.. She told me that she was able to transfer me to them only if I have been waiting for a very LONG time... But online you can easily find their extension number because it seems to be the same number but you need to use the good extension associate to your CFO.

The Chief Firearms Office (CFO) of Quebec : 1 800 731-4000 Extension 7005
The Chief Firearms Office (CFO) of British Columbia : 1 800 731-4000 Extension 9530
The Chief Firearms Office (CFO) of Ontario : 1 800 731-4000 Extension 7503

    Thank you so much!

I was waiting at "initial review completed" for like 3 months. Kept getting hung up on when I phoned the general number. Phoned the BC CFO office directly using this extension. Got hung up on a few times, but kept calling back and talked to a nice lady who approved my application on the phone.

    Applied March 3rd - Approved September 26th!
