It took them 8 days to respond after I emailed and they don't respond to emails. They call you from a private number.

Note: Answered yes to question 16. d). I have been diagnosed with depression a long time ago.

    Application received: August 18, 2022
Credit card charged: October 17, 2022
Called CFO on December 15, 2022: in the queue to be picked up by the next available officer, might take up to 9 months, might send me a medical form in the mail that needs to be signed by my doctor.
Called CFO again on February 2, 2022: it can take up to 9 months, be patient and do not call back before May 18, 2023

From what I read here it might take over a year. I just wish they sent me the medical form sooner because getting free time from my doctor would take a while.
Just wanted to share an update:

Called CFO on May 18, 2023: My application will be sent to an officer and will be done in the next 5-10 days.
Called CFO again on June7, 2023: They were not sure if someone reviewed my application but did not leave a comment. Submitted for review again and hopefully will be reviewed in the next 5-10 days.
June 12th, 2023: Received a form to be filled by my doctor, made an appointment with my doctor for July 6th.
July 6th, 2023: My doctor filled the form and will mail it to the RCMP.
July 12, 2023: Checked application status: "Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks..."

It took about a year but I read some people had even worse experiences.

PS just noticed this post is on page 666!

    Applied electronically on 24/05/23

Payment made and references confirmed on 25/05/23

Licence approved and mailed on 22/06/23

29 days total from application to being approved.

No additional calls or emails needed, no boxes checked.

    Located in Alberta.
ROLF I took that same course and applied the same day (17/05). Instant "Initial Review Complete" and still waiting. Called RCMP line and it is sitting at the AB office. I had an EX write a false report about me years ago that was dismissed immediately. Unfortunately I guess I still have a "report" in the system so I wonder if that is why it is slow. Phone agent said there was nothing indicating other information was needed. If this ends up being the case I will seek a lawyer to have it removed.

Guys this letter was given by the cfo officer that has my file.
    Good Morning,

Your application is being processed and requires additional review due to eligibility issues.

The recent government legislation changes as well as the increased volume in applications has

led to increased processing times. Please do not continue to contact the CFO for status updates

as this also increases wait times. You will be contacted if additional information is required as

    your application is processed.

Now the question is what do I do with this do I keep calling or do I stop and give up cause I’m just about tired 1 year and 3 months and still nothing #♂️#♂️. It’s mind boggling how incompetent these cfo officers are like how about you do your job that we pay you to do. But guys really need a good answer as to what to do frm here on worth. Thank you all anything helps

Everything happened in 2023. I received my PAL result (FEDECP card) two weeks after the course date by post and the RPAL results one week after the course date by email.

    - May 5: I submitted my application online and I got my credit card charged an hour or two later. The PAL application status portal appeared.
    - May 10: All of my references signed.
    - June 6: I called CFP and a representative said everything is good on my side and that my application is sent to my provincial CFO for final approval.
    - July 3: I sent an mail to BCAFE inquiring about my application status.
    - July 11: I received a private call from BCAFE about letting me know that they're approving my RPAL. RPAL status changed to processed and issued on the same day.
    - July 18: My card arrived by post.

Some important notes, warning and stuff you should be aware while applying below:

I answered "No" to all six questions under "Personal History", my criminal record is clean and I'm in great physical & mental health. Your mileage may vary.

For the six questions under "Personal History" (step 5/21 of section C of mail application), be aware that you absolutely cannot lie on some questions about personal history, because not only would your application take longer to process, but your file could also get blacklisted after your license gets issued. For the first 3 questions, they have access to your criminal records and they likely know who's living in your household. For the question before the last question, you're innocent until proven guilty so answer this question "No" if you also answered "No" to the first 2 questions. If you're unsure, ask your local police station to show your criminal record. For the last one, I'm not sure. Answer "Yes" only for divorce and maybe also if you got fired or filed bankruptcy. I voluntary quit a job a year ago and I faced no issues answering "No" to this question.

For the question 4 in step 5/21 of the R/PAL online application and to question 16.d) of the mail application, be aware that medical records are confidential by law. Unless your mental issue required police intervention, like 911 call for suicide as an example, the RCMP will 100% not know if you answer "No" to that question, even if you were diagnosed for depression by a doctor.

Did you do yours at the Calgary Shooting Center?

Sorry to hear that man, honestly just seems to be luck of the draw, no rhyme or reason.

Hopefully they see it was dismissed immediately and move on with your file.

I noticed after I sent the application I made a mistake on my driver's licence number and was worried that would set me back like 6 months hahaha
