Now it is time to shop.

Wow that has to be one of the fastest I've heard of.
Mine wasnt printed for a full month after being "issued"
And that was after I called multiple times.

I was pretty concerned about the wait after reading a few threads online but it turned out fairly well in my case. Now it's time to see how long transfers will be.

I’m going for a record. 24 day from when they received till approval, they said it’ll in the mail within 5 days.

Wow that is crazy. Isn't the mandatory wait longer than that even?

License issued on April 3rd. Received license in the mail last night. Overall 127 days from the date my application was received in Miramichi. One last weekend for Turkey!

They approved mine on April 8th. I’m in my 8th week of waiting for this printer delay. Called Tuesday, was told it would be printed in 5 days. Then another 2-# weeks to get it. Called back tonight. Hasn’t been printed yet, but should be mid next week. Then mail. I’m thinking this is going to take 10 weeks from approval. I started this journey back in November. So I’m at 7.5 months to obtain a firearm. I’d say our firearm control is pretty stiff in Canada.

Finally got my card. Final timeline is:

Application sent in mail Jan 14
    Application Received Jan 18
    License Issued April 2
License arrived in mail May 24.

A lot of people passed me in the process, so I called probably half a dozen times during those months, was always polite. I'm confident if I hadn't called to nudge things along I'd still be waiting. So in total 130 days since I mailed it. That was very frustrating, luckily we only have to deal with them once every 5 years.

That whole process is a shame. They’re not slow because they’re doing their job. They’re slow because they’re not doing it.

I called in this morning to see if I could get my pal # and an update on which day they are on in the printing cycle. No word on the cycle day but she said she would send a manual request to print in the next week but that's what they seem to be telling everyone now so we will see. Only 37 days to approval.
    Cheers.
Quick update, card actually arrived in the mail today.
Looks like she wasn't just brushing me off!
41 days from mailing the application to receiving my card.

    Good luck everyone.
