    Why couldn't they just keep making the model 24, such a great gun. I'm sure the model 42 will perform just fine, but it doesn't have the feeling the old 24's do for me, I love my 24V 30-30 / 20 ga.

    Beautiful combo gun NWO, what year is it?

    I wonder how much lighter this is then the older 22mag/20G. Too bad one can't find plastic/synthetic stocks to lighten the load a bit. The savage 24 in 22/410 is just right in the weight department.

    We were told that the Model 24s were just to expensive to build. Another order of 25 of these guns is due to arrive next week.

    I am also interested in the .22WMR/.410. It should make for a handy critter rifle. Does anyone know if it takes 3" shells?
