    Frontier Firearms Review

    Hi CGN Members,

New member here been doing a lot of reading on various topics and thought I'd contribute.

I recently made a purchase at Frontier Firearms and wanted to let other members know about the process.

    Good:
    - Fast order processing and shipping; my order was processed within 24 hours of leaving my credit card information. I got my email with my tracking number right away and it was delivered faster than the expected delivery date
    - Friendly phone staff people; I called a couple of times to ask questions and they were very helpful and friendly over the phone

    Bad:
    - Credit card payments have to be processed over the phone; so you order online and then call in with your credit card... which leads to point 2..
    - Maybe it was the time of the year, but there were a couple of times that I wasn't able to get through because of busy signal and when that happens, there's not way to leave a message
    - Accuracy of information?: I was talking to one of the clerks to get my transfer number to get started on my LTATT and he said that I didn't need to do that as the CFC automatically processes that information with my purchase. He also told me that I didn't need a STATT if I were to pick it up at the post office because apparently Canada Post takes care of that. I believe both points to be false given what I've read subsequently on CGN but I'm new to the whole process

    Summary:
All in all, it was a painless and fairly easy process. I did feel that I wasn't given accurate information over the phone, however that may be a function of different provincial rules? (I'm not from Sask). To the more experienced purchaser, I'm sure they wouldn't have the issues that I had. Having said that, I would buy from them again.

    Matt

You do not have to call CFC if buying from dealer
You do not need STAT if Can Post delivers to you
Pre-orders are horrible for everyone involved. They never go smooth. We will not be doing a pre-order to bankroll this project.

A STATT is not required for delivery if it comes to your door. The person you talked to may have thought you were meaning the delivery to your house. As far as credit card processing goes, this is something that we have been working on for some time now but are having a difficult time matching software and with the schedual of the tech people who do the installs it has dragged on for a long time.

I ordered from them. Fast processing. But when the $1000 ppq arrived at my door they had shipped it in a cheap plastic envelope. Was not impressed one but. Luckily the case or pistol was not damaged.
let me in. i have already been to hell.

The problem with Socialism is.... you can vote yourself into it. But you have to shoot yourself out of it.

Why would you need an STATT to pick it up from the post office either?

You don't know what is in the package, you are just picking up your mail.

Drug dealer in my town got arrested at the post office with a parcel full of drugs and got off because it was unopened and thus he had no idea of what was inside...

I've always had great dealings with frontier. The bad points you mentioned aren't bad in my view.... And the information they gave you is accurate.
For the time they have been dealing firearms, they are very well placed to know this kind of information.

x2, technically anyone at the address can pick up the package including those without an PAL. My wife (with no PAL) has signed for "signature required" packages delivered to the house while I was at work that turned out to be firearms and ammo.

Ahh gotta love our government on gun control.....

the law (as i understand it) is that you do in fact require a short term transport for pick up from the post office to take home. however like mentioned the reality is it is technically like any other parcel, you could have thought it was your kids christmas gift..... by the time you figure it out, you are home and why would you call the RCMP at that point.

we should keep this our little secret so the feds don't tighten up and take even more rights away from us.....
