The Vectronix Terrapin does not have a built in ballistic computer. Nor does it give you inclination, compass heading barometric pressure or temperature. What is does do is give you the distance to your target with more accuracy and precision than the other rangefinders on the market. The Terrapin has a much tighter laser beam allowing you to successfully hit smaller targets or targets with less reflectivity than the G7. A client told me last week that with the help of his Terrapin, he was able to hit an 18 inch balloon with his first shot at 1035m.

Bought mine last month and finally got a chance to try it out. Very easy to use. A friend who has a Lecia 1600 Rangefinder - he took one look and he wants a Terrapin now.
Got it range to 893 m. Will go for 1 km soon.

Took my terrapin out this weekend to test we have swaro, licea and other cheaper models, this thing is amazing ranges very quick and repeatable ranged buildings at 2675 yards a camper at 1900 and a cow at 1253 yards . It ranged the cow with ease, the swor also ranged the cow but not as quickly. Also was a little concerned about the low power optics at first , but after using it this weekend the optics are not a issue.

I talked to them earlier this summer, vectronix is supposed to release something to replace terrapin but nothing is seen yet.

I would love to get my hands on one.

    Bring back the terrapin!

That'd be deadly. I like my Leica 1600, but the Terrapin crushes it!!

I have Leica as well but seems like they are only good to about 1200 yards. Would really like a terrapin
