The Walther PPX is a double action only hammer fired pistol that is positioned to be a lower cost alternative to the PPQ. The cost saving comes with a beefier slide which takes less time to machine. While it is a DAO pistol, it has a relative light DAO trigger and an extremely short trigger reset that almost feel like a striker fired pistol. The MSRP should be around $500 USD.

The PPX navy version featured a 4.6" threaded barrel ( the label in the picture is wrong). This barrel length makes it Canadian legal.

There is also a new version of PPQ with the traditional button magazine release, instead of the ambidextrous paddle release.

And the standard version in stainless steel:

We had test fired the PPX on the media day. we found it to be very easy to shoot well and we like the trigger alot.

It's actually a weirdo half-breed of DAO and single action; the slide has to be racked for the trigger to engage the hammer and bring it to full ####... so if you have a ftf, pulling the trigger without racking the slide won't fire the gun. It's like Glock's safe action had a baby with a single action hammer-fired gun and made this thing. Nice gun though; it felt great.

So no de cocking lever/button?
