SHOT SHOW 2013 Report: FN FNS 9 Long Slide Pistol

The FN FNS striker fired pistols had been out since last year. We were left with pretty positive impression when we first saw these pistols in Shot Show 2012. Unfortunately, all the barrel lengths offered have been under the 4.25" legal limit of Canada, until now. The new Long Slide model spots a 5" barrel, which makes it legal in Canada.

According to FNH show floor staff, the final product may not be equipped with manual safety. This makes sense as striker fired pistols are considered double action only in many competition. If it is geared towards competition shooting, manual safety will be redundant.

These new striker pistols, like the PPQ, all have way better triggers ( I would actually say excellent trigger) than pistols that have been in the market for a long time such as Glock. Obviously, everyone has paid attention to their main competitor(s) in the market.

if they could at least make 4.25" barrels for the 4" model then I'd buy it. The ONLY gun with a barrel over 4.5" should be a revolver, 5" on a semi looks silly.. absolutely silly.
