UPDATE: Jan. 22, 2013 - Blue Line is proud to announce... the MPA-RC 556 Rifle!

I'm very excited to announce something awesome: The Masterpiece Arms MPAR-556 rifle will be coming to Canada!

Blue Line Activities has been working closely with Masterpiece Arms since the MPAR was announced in December, and we will be the exclusive distributor for Masterpiece Arms in Canada. The MPAR will be marketed in Canada as the MPA-RC 556 (Masterpiece Arms Rifle, Canadian). We will be pushing hard for a Non-Restricted classification with the RCMP and we're confident that it should have no issues. It uses a proprietary short-stroke gas piston design that has no commonality with the AR-15 operating system, which works in our favor. It will accept standard AR magazines and pistol grips, along with AR stocks.

Stay tuned for more news, as we will be working closely with MPA, and we will be looking at lots of options and accessories to bring in along with this rifle. Rest assured that we will be working with MPA to set a very attractive and competitive price to Canadians, and we hope to make the MPA-RC the new gold standard in NR rifles.

Let us know if you have any questions, and if you have suggestions on features or accessories you'd like to see. We've already been thinking about working with MPA to create stock adapters to let the MPA-RC accept other stocks, like the ACR stock or the XCR's FAST stock, as examples.

We will be posting more updates and pictures as they come in, so stay tuned!

    UPDATE: January 22, 2013

    Hi everyone,

It’s been a very busy week and we’ve returned from a very productive Shot Show. We’re really excited about bringing the MPA-RC rifle to the Canadian market, and the response from the CGN community has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re blown away by your support and your interest in this rifle, and we want to do our very best to bring the MPA-RC to market as quickly as humanly possible.

Some of the more observant CGN members have noticed the similarity of the MPAR 556 to the Leader Dynamics T2 Mark 5 rifle. As some of you know, the Leader Dynamics Mark series of rifles are prohibited by name with the RCMP. We want to assure everyone that although the MPAR 556 looks similar to the Leader, the parts are not interchangeable.

Blue Line is committed to bringing the MPA-RC to Canada, and we want to stress that the MPA-RC is going to be a different rifle than the MPAR 556. The MPA–RC will be a dedicated Canadian production model and will be tailor-made by Masterpiece Arms (MPA) to conform to Canadian firearms law and ensure a Non-Restricted certification.

We know everyone is eager to find out what the MSRP of the rifle will be, and we will do our best to keep the rifle as affordable as possible. Our target MSRP will be $1199.00, and we will work very hard with MPA to keep costs down. However, depending on the changes that have to be made to the design, we may have to adjust the MSRP accordingly.

Until we receive a certification from the RCMP, the MPA-RC will only be available in 5.56 / .223. We will definitely be looking to bring in other calibres in the future. We will also be working with MPA to add some features like a bolt hold-open, shell casing deflector, different handguard and stock options. Feel free to message us with features / options / accessories you might want to see.

Here’s some information about the MPA-RC for those of you who are curious to know more about it: The rifle will be completely produced at MPA, except for the magazine and the springs. The barrel blanks are provided by ER Shaw Precision Barrels, but final CNC turning operations will be performed by MPA. The MPAR and MPA-RC will feature the following:
    • Adjustable gas piston system
    • Locked bolt design
    • Dual recoil springs
    • 10” aluminum handguard with adjustable Picatinny rail segments
    • Side folding collapsible stock
    • Full length Picatinny top rail
    • Left side charging handle with forward assist
    • Ambi Safety selector
    • AR magazine compatible

Please stay tuned to our forum for future updates. We will likely establish a pre-order / waitlist in the future, but for the time being we will not be making any pre-order arrangements. Your support and encouragement go a long way, and all of us at the Blue Line Team appreciate it.

Warmest Regards from all of us,

    Pat

Very Exciting news as long as it's Non-Restricted. Any idea on a price or still to early to tell.

From the CheaperThanDirt blog: "The MPAR 556 Rifle is phosphate hard-coat anodized depending on the material used. Masterpiece Arms claims that disassembly will be very user friendly, both for access to the internals of the weapon as well as the piston assembly housed in the front handguard. This gun is American Made and offers the MasterPiece Arms Lifetime Guarantee. MSRP is $959.00"

So with an MSRP of 960 USD, we can expect what? $1300-1500 in Canada? Approx? That's my guess although I WISH it were closer to the US price! (which will probably be LOWER, since MSRP is usually higher than STREET price)
