SHOT SHOW REPORT 2013: Promag Archangel Opfor Mosin Nagant, AK-47, Saiga, SKS

Stock for the mosin looks really coll BUT! It would probably cost twice the price of the rifle and it may be useless on the battered one

That SKS stock isn't impressive to me. The stock doesn't fold so it's just a overly intricate M4 style collapsible (Might as well just Tapco). That bit at the end of the SKS receiver cover that tries to replicate an AK silhouette could have been made more practical by being a scope mount extension. Instead it looks cheesy up close and probably makes disassembly unnecessarily more difficult. I was expecting Promag to go all Sparta on it, but no. That Mosin mag on the other hand, looks interesting.

GT / hical, is there a rail to mount a bipod for the mosin stock? Will something be available before production? Seems like a shame to put a nice stock but nowhere to mount a bipod?

The new promag stock for the Remington 700 has a built in spring loaded bi-pod that pops out with the press of a button. Not sure but maybe this one does too. They look like the same stock so maybe.

Good call and I thought that too, but looking at the pictures it doesnt appear to have the bipod, nor did dave (hical) mention in his original posting.

Had a chance to hold it, shoulders nicely and the adjustable length of pull and cheek riser are nice. One interesting point is the built up portion behind reciever to give more AK like appearance. Spoke with the designer and they are looking into the bayonet cutout. They are also really pro Canadian and plan on supporting our market.

There will be no bayo cutout, there is a QD sling mount in the bottom, we will have a rail for the bottom by the time we import them to Canada.

the Mosin Nagant stock also has a cutout for the Timmey trigger safety. It's really nice, may have to buy another rifle and equip it with this stock and the Timmey trigger.
